In the dynamic world of recruiting, understanding the differences between large companies and startups is crucial to providing personalized solutions that truly add value. At Mibucle, we take pride in working with a variety of companies, from large corporations to fast-growing startups, helping them find the right talent not only from a technical point of view, but also culturally.
What do we do when a new search comes in?
1. THE PREVIOUS: Marketing and Talent Attraction Strategy
We develop marketing strategies aimed at attracting tech and digital professionals, generating valuable content and organizing events and webinars that connect with talent. Currently, we have more than 100,000 professionals in Latin America who view our content and job offers weekly. Our recruiting team uses Social Recruiting techniques to quickly connect with candidates, interviewing IT specialists such as CTOs, Tech Leads, Developers, Software Architects, Data and Cybersecurity on a weekly basis. This allows us to act quickly to meet our clients' needs!
2. The Cultural Match - At this point, we are genuinely interested in why people choose to work with our client companies. If the teams are just forming and need to scale quickly, as is usually the case with Startups, Software Factories and Fintech, this information relates to the founders' vision and the key objectives they need to achieve. In this regard, we will advise our clients and look for people aligned with their company objectives, with the necessary soft skills to be part of a growing project that is expanding, such as:
-
Adaptability: Startups change quickly, so it is essential to be flexible and willing to assume new roles or responsibilities as the situation requires.
-
Resilience: Working in a startup can be challenging and stressful. The ability to recover from setbacks and maintain a positive attitude is critical.
-
Proactivity: In an environment where resources are limited and hierarchies are flat, taking the initiative and being autonomous are highly valued skills.
-
Creativity: Startups often depend on innovative solutions to solve complex problems. Being creative and thinking outside the box is key.
-
Teamwork: Startups usually have small teams, so the ability to collaborate closely with others, share ideas and work towards a common goal is essential.
When we offer our service to large corporations, and they need to hire professionals for a project, we understand that speed is key, however, we put a lot of focus on profiling, and understanding the corporate culture; we often interview internal collaborators to capture what makes them choose and stay with the company. Although this may take longer initially, it helps us find the ideal talent that aligns with the project and culture.
3. Buyer Persona and Sourcing Strategies
Before initiating a search, it is imperative to thoroughly understand the profile of the talent we are seeking. To do this, we conduct an exhaustive profile survey and thoroughly review candidates who are currently working for the company or have been there in the past. We consider the following key aspects:
-
Type of Position
: We identify the specific characteristics of the role we are looking to fill, focusing on performance objectives. -
Company Information
: We analyze the company to understand its structure and culture. -
Experience and Required Competencies
: We evaluate the skills and experience necessary for the position. -
Time in the Company
: We review the length of stay in previous roles to detect patterns. -
Geographical Location
: We take into account the candidate's place of residence. -
Associations and Groups
: We investigate the associations, groups, and communities to which they belong. -
Previous Work Experience
: We review the previous companies where they have worked. -
Publications and Information Media
: We analyze the media and publications they follow. -
Academic Training
: We consider the universities, tertiary or bootcamps where they have trained. -
Conferences and Events
: We observe the events and conferences they attend. -
Online Communities
: We review in which online communities they are active. -
Social Networks
: We identify on which social networks we can find and connect with them.
With this information, it is possible to identify suitable candidates, and also better understand their motivations and how they align with the opportunities we offer.
-
Sourcing Strategies: We use proactive sourcing strategies and referrals, exploring new technological communities on platforms like GitHub, Slack, Discord, Telegram, and more.
-
Referrals and Continuous Networking: In addition to generating concrete actions to attract referrals, we make sure to maintain active and constant contact with professionals, even if there is not a specific position to fill at that time. This allows us to stay abreast of market trends and emerging skills, and build valuable relationships with candidates from different areas. By fostering continuous networking, we not only expand our talent network, but we are also prepared to act quickly when a new opportunity arises.
4. Use of AI for Optimization
We apply AI to identify industry terms, compare skills between candidates, assemble post-interview reports, find key talents, and seek sources that promote diversity. This allows us to make more effective postings and connect with the right people.
5. Interviews and Candidate Presentation
When contacting candidates, we focus on how we can help them advance in their career. We focus on understanding their objectives and how we can align them with available opportunities. We present candidates within a timeframe of 3 to 7 days, ensuring efficiency and quality in the process.
π Challenges of Scaling Quickly
Scaling quickly poses significant challenges, including the pressure to hire without compromising the quality of talent. At Mibucle, we understand that speed should not compromise quality. The soft skills and cultural match are essential to ensuring that new collaborators integrate and contribute to the success of the company.
Differences between Large Companies and Startups
Each company size has unique needs and challenges. Large companies require skills to navigate hierarchical structures, while small ones value adaptability and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Our Commitment to Excellence in Recruiting
At Mibucle, we tailor our approach to the specific needs of each client. Whether a large corporation or a burgeoning startup, we ensure we present candidates with the technical and soft skills necessary to contribute to the company's success.
