The Coaching is a discipline that incorporates contributions from different subjects such as philosophy and linguistics, aiming to guide a person from where they are (current situation) to where they want to be (desired situation).
There are 5 key components to understanding a Coaching process:
The power of language
We humans are mainly linguistic beings. Through our conversations we not only describe reality but also generate, create a new reality.
The power of our conversations
Therefore, the power of our conversations is crucial: the way we talk to ourselves and others determines our way of seeing and interpreting the world, and therefore, of acting in it.
Creating our future
Another key aspect of Coaching is that it leverages the present to create, design the future we want. For this, we must be willing to review certain beliefs, things, ideas, thoughts, that we take for granted "that they are like that" but that today no longer work for us. They don't allow us to grow or advance towards where we want.
Regardless of what happened to us or how we were in the past, today can be different. We can choose who we want to be and how to live our life. Different interpretations of our history and what we can do with our life, open different possibilities.
Observing ourselves
It involves observing ourselves, our thoughts, actions and emotions from a different perspective, in order to start achieving different results.
Reviewing who I am when I do the things I do, to get the results I get, is part of the Coaching process. And from there, redefine and reflect on who I want to be and how to get there.
Holistic person: body-emotion-language
Working with the body-emotion-language in an integrated way during Coaching sessions enhances the results of the process. Since we are emotional beings who use reason to justify our actions, reviewing our emotions is a key point to effectively bring about change.
Is this for you? We invite you to dare to have your first Coaching conversation.
